From the Roots: A Mother's Perspective

Herbal medicine isn’t just a trend it’s a lineage, and for me, it began long before Rejuvaheal existed. I wanted to share the roots of our story how a mother’s love for wild plants, family, and natural healing grew into a legacy now carried forward by my son.

In the early 1970s, I set out on an old bike with a wildflower guide and a heart full of curiosity. There were no workshops or Instagram tutorials just the quiet company of books like Stalking the Wild Asparagus by Euell Gibbons and writings by Jeanne Rose. These early guides helped me learn to wildcraft herbs and start growing my own garden.

My kitchen became a laboratory of healing infusions, tinctures, and salves filled the air with the scent of elderflower and mint. My first salve came from a simple elderflower recipe. Soon, calendula, mullein, and mint hung drying from the cottage ceiling. My children, including Sheenon, helped harvest and prepare everything, making herbal medicine a family ritual.

In Woodstock, New York, I wrote a column called Wildcrafting in Woodstock for the Woodstock Times, and our cold and flu tinctures became a staple in the town. Every winter, neighbors knocked on our door to get their trusted herbal remedy handcrafted and soaked in sun for six months.

Now, Sheenon carries this tradition forward with Rejuvaheal. The formulas may be refined for today’s needs, but the spirit is unchanged.
